  Lack of Vitality

The feeling of listlessness is probably the most characteristic symptom of anemia, a conditon traceable to the lack of, or failure to absorb,  enough of one or another of the vital food factors which actually build the blood.

The red part of the blood (hemoglobin) carries oxygen from the lungs to all the various body cells and tissues. Oxygen is the basis of vitality.

Then the amount of hemoglobin in the blood diminishes, the oxygen supply of the tissues is correspondingly decreased, and the vitality of the tissues affected is lessened in an exact proportion. thus, the anemic person doesn’t have the strength or zest to carry on the everyday affairs of life.

Anemia Due to Lack of Food Iron

The chief constituent of the red part of tblood is iron, which may be supplied by foods. However, the iron content of foods is not the sole measure of their value in blood building. Availability is the deciding factor.

The iron in the liver of various animals (lamb, pork, calf, beef), in molasses, peaches, apricots, eggs and certain other foods may be 60 or 70 per cent usable; the iron in spinach and certain other iron-rich vegetables may be only 25 or 30 per cent usable.

Thus we can see why foods for blood iron should be chosen on the basis of availability. There is evidence also that the element copper, as it occurs in food, is needed to convert the iron from foods into body blood.

Foods containing both copper and iron are, therefore, highly recommended for overcoming anemia. Alkaline compounds such as baking soda interfere with the utilization of iron.

Vitamin C as a Factor in Anemia Lack of enough Vitamin C in the body may result in a characteristic type of anemia, for Vitamin C actually enters into the process of blood cell formation.

The symptoms may be more severe than those of iron depletion. For example, people with Vitamin C anemia are usually moody and irritable and mentally depressed.

They are apt to have pasty complexions and an unhealthy appearance. Overcooking vegetables and wasting vitamin-rich pot liquors are two culinary mistakes which make Vitamin C anemia a common ailment.

Proper preparation as well as choice of foods is important. Liver and Anemia A special food factor, not yet clearly identified but definitely known to be present in liver and other organ meats, plays an important part in the formation of blood cells.

A widespread type of pernicious anemia occurs because of a lack of enough of this essential blood-building material. The victim is easily exhausted and tends to have the markedly sallow complexion indicative of the disorder.

The Battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Creative Commons License photo credit: Melle_Oh

A generally healthy lifestyle, including good nutrition, low or no tobacco smoking or alcohol consumption, exercise, adequate sleep, and lowered stress levels has been  an indicator of a healthier immune system overall. However, how many of us can say that we have a healthy immune system?

Sometimes our immune system breaks down gradually over a long period of time, and the changes are hardly recognizable to us until we come down with what many describe as chronic fatigue syndrome. And some of the ways we attract it may surprise us.

With women, chronic fatigue syndrome, an immune disorder, has been linked to implants, as has overall pain (fibromyalgia) and multiple organ system abnormalities. At one time, 50 consecutive silicone implant patients filled out a survey and what they said is disturbing.

A high percentage of these patients (87%) reported having fatigue.  Another 75% reported haveing overall stiffness, and 71% said they had poor sleep.

This brings us to the matter of toxic immune syndrome. And you may be asking yourself, what does chronic fatigue syndrome have to do with a toxic immune syndrome.

CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) is called a syndrome, or collection of recognizable symptoms that usually occur together, rather than a distinct disease. CFS urrently affects about 3 million Americans and about 90 million people worldwide.

Although it has been reported in all age groups, chronic fatigue syndrome is most prevalent in the 20-40 age range.  Women sufferers outnumber men two to one, and 95% of the victims are Caucasian.

What are the symptoms of CFS?  The definition can be as simple as a feeling of long-term tiredness and listlessness that is severe enough to have a significant impact on the sufferer’s life. Let’s look at some common symptoms:  brain fog, low-grade fever, sore throat, joint pain, muscle weakness, muscle aches, tiredness, fatigue, lack of motivation, and inability to do simple tasks.

Some doctors have said that one who has CFS would have to have at least four of the above for at least four months to be considered a victim of CFS in their opinion. Other symptoms contributed to CFS includ irritability, mood swings, decreasedd libido, heart rhythm disturbances, sensitivity to light and noise, changes in taste, smell or hearing, neck and low back pain, and general muscle weakness.

Unfortunately, a blood test will not detect whether one has CFS or not, and some doctors may even not sympathize with you, thinking that you will “snap out of it” soon. But fatigue goes beyond simple tiredness. The person with CFS may be tired but can’t rest, and often feels just plain awful, but may have a difficult time pinpointing just what feels so awful. Some even wonder if their life will ever be “normal” again.

So what can be done?  Well, of course there is the response that one should find out the root cause of the tiredness and treat it. Maybe go to a clinic that specializes in this problem. Sodium (salt) deficiency and its accompanying low blood pressure has been shown to be related to CFS. Sometimes amino acid supplements have given victims of CFS a sense of improvement in their tiredness.

As always, we strongly suggest you consult your health advisor or doctor if you feel that you may be suffering from CFS. We simply post these articles in hopes that if something triggers a thought for you in a healthy way, then we have had a small part in stirring you along a path of recovery for what ails you.

Sleep Loss Due to Sunglasses?

What, you say? Sunglasses may be a contributing factor to losing some sleep? Yes, according to several studies, one in particular conducted by none other than Albert Schweitzer.

Schweitzer observed arthritis and cancer among an African population many years ago who had been free of these diseases about thirty years prior to his study. What had changed in these people that brought on Western diseases?  Their diet and lifestyle had not really changed except for one particular thing.

How Sunglasses Contribute to Cancer and Arthritis

Western-styled sunglasses had become a status symbol ten years before the time of Schweitzer’s study. Within a generation, the Western diseases had grabbed a foothold on this African population.

One African lady had suffered from recurring upper respiratory infections. She refrained from wearing sunglasses for a year and a half and got well again. Then she started wearing them again…and got sick again. Finally, she gave up wearing them and got well again.

Apparently sunlight sensitivity strongly correlates with signs of suppressed adrenal function or toxic depleted neurotransmitters.

Many parts of the body have multiple functions.  Receptor organs are no exception.  The eyes see and let in sunlight, stimulating the pineal and pituitary glands in the brain. These in turn produce the sleep promoting and cancer fighting hormone melatonin from serotonin and stimulate the adrenal galands to produce energy, explaining why we are awake during the day.

What confuses this mechanism are sunglasses or colored contact lenses worn during the day, artificial light that is missing certain frequencies, and bright light at night. This confusion helps explain daytime tiredness and nighttime sleeplessness.

Of course there are possibly many other factors as well. I’m just saying that sunglasses should be considered as a possible cause when one is tired on a regular basis.

As always, consult your doctor before making any abrupt or permanent changes in your behavior related to your health. My burden is that you would be aware of some of these possibilities when consulting your doctor that he or she may be able to also consider the effects of using sunglasses or colored contact lenses for the long haul.

Sleep Secrets Revealed!

Creative Commons License photo credit: fogusWhat is the most important matter related to our physical and psychological well-being? Well, I have already given you a big clue by the title of this article. And sleep is a most fascinating topic that has been experimented with from one extreme to another. But what is the final analysis on how much sleep is enough!

I grew up thinking that seven hours was a minimum and eight hours was about the maximum that I would need from day to day to be functioning in a normal way. Then I read an article about the Rolls-Royce dynamic duo that put together quite an upscale vehicle to say the least.

And the point that stuck in my memory was not that they had designed such a car, but that one of the two, and I don’t recall which one, had a habit of sleeping only four hours a night. I thought this was stunning info! Could this be true? If he could get by on four hours, why couldn’t I get my sleep time down to at least, say, six hours? A gain of two hours a day would be 14 hours a week, 60 plus hours a month, etc.

This would be sensational to pull off. More time for whatever stimulated my interests! Then I read a little further and found out that either Rolls or Royce died at a seemingly young age. Was it because of a lack of sufficient sleep? I don’t have the confirming answer to that thought.

Then I read recently that Leonardo de Vinci was able to sleep less than 2 hours a day and carry this on for long periods of time. He would only sleep 15 minutes every 4 hours which would be just one and a half hours a day of total sleep. He was quite remarkable with his skills and abilities and this small amount of sleep did not seem to hinder him.

However, as I read on, I discovered that he may not have continued this practice in his later years, and in fact, may not have done it other than during times of stress to complete projects in a timely manner.

Doctors who have studied sleep to great degrees have concurred often that the human body is designed to get seven to eight hours of sleep every day on the average in order to give the body parts the necessary rest that they need to replenish themselves.

I personally know of friends who do a fast one day a week, like every Monday. This has proven to be very beneficial to the body. Of course we all need water, quality water, and should never go without water each day.

There are a number of studies saying that we should drink eight glasses of water a day, one doctor has come out and said that we could drink less than one glass and do just fine. I lean toward the higher number the more I have studied the body.

Sleep has many variables; time of day, location, our bed or another one, quality of mattresses, pillows, noisy or quiet atmospheres. All of these may have some degree of effect on how much sleep we actually get.

Another interesting point is related to our position when we sleep. Have you  ever flown from one place to another and thought it smart to sleep during the flight? When you arrived at your destination, were you rested?

Probably not, our bodies have a built-in sensor that tells us that we are not laying down when we are sleeping and therefore, we don’t enter into a “deep” sleep.

The result is that we don’t get the quality rest that we need under those conditions. This applies to sleeping while standing up. We can close our eyes and maybe feel that we are at rest, but again our body is prepared to respond if we start to lean one way or the other.

If you are not getting a good night’s sleep, try considering a different mattress or a new down-filled pillow, or both. Recently I purchased a pad that lays on top of my mattress, and to my surprise, I slept much better with the extra cushioning under my body. It made sleeping on my side much more enjoyable.

Regarding Tooth Decay

                                           Preventing Tooth Decay

A large variety of fruits, fruit juices and raw  salad vegetables are excellent sources of Vitamin C.  When eaten raw their Vitamin C value will be intact if the food is ripe and has been propertly stored.  This food factor is of immense importance to the welfare of adult teeth.

When Vitamin C is lacking in the diet, the pulp of the teeth tends to shrivel, small holes form, and other forms of degeneration occur.  This is the type of tooth decay that robs most men and women of their dental health.  Thus, the daily use of some raw foods rich in Vitamin C helps to keep the teeth healthy.

  Veggies May Prevent Tooth Cavities

The chief substance of the teeth is called dentine.  It surrounds the tooth pulp and is covered by enamel on the exposed parts and cementum on the part of the teeth implanted in the jaw.  Decay of the dentine causes the familiar tooth cavity.

The replacement and repair of the enamel and cement tissues of adult teeth depend upon Vitamin C.  Only small quantities of calcium and phosphorus are needed.  The enamel-forming cells actually seem to disappear when Vitamin C intake is low.

Furthermore, the dentine becomes riddles with tiny holes.  The replacement dentine which is produced is of very inferior quality.  Thus, Vitamin C is the important food factor in preventing tooth decay.

Contrary to popular belief, the Vitamin C-rich vegetables, fruits and fruit juices are as important to adult tooth welfare as milk (especially raw milk), which is mineral-rich but has little Viamin C.

How Excessive Use of Starchy Foods Encourages Decay

Saliva, which keeps the mouth membrances moist, should normally be alkaline and serve as one of the body’s storehouses of acid buffer materials.

When the body alkaline reserve grows low, the saliva not only gives up its alkaline stores but it may also become slightly acid in reaction.  It may then fail to protect the teeth against the growth of germs which encourage tooth decay.

It follows that too liberal use of starches, sugars, fatty foods and meats, all of which leave an acid residue, may tend to harm the teeth (see article on ph factor).

On the other hand, fruits, vegetables and milk, which leave an alkaline residue, help to replenish the body’s alkaline reserves.  These foods, therefore, should make up a large part of the daily diet if the health of the teeth is to be maintained.

The Excessive Use of Sugar May Encourage Tooth Decay

Diabetics following a low sugar diet are much less liable to tooth decay than the average individual.  One authority has gone so far as to state that if the diabetic diet were to become the normal diet, tooth decay would disappear.

Research has indicated that sugar clinging to the teeth favors the growth of certain aciduric organisms which produce tooth decay.  Cooked starchy foods do not have this effect, although they are converted into sugar in the body.

A Chemical That Mottles the Teeth

The element fluorine is a chemical cousin of iodine and chlorine. In many sections of the country, drinking water may contain excessive amounts of fluorine.  The teeth of people living in such localities are apt to become mottled and discolored and subject to decay.

Tiredness

“Constitutional inadequacy” describes the state of those people who are always “too tired” to carry on the everyday routine of life.  The condition may be a disorder of body chemistry as a result of lack of proper foods. This deficiency may keep one at an acidic level rather than alkalinic. Let’s take a look in more detail to this common problem of tiredness.

The energy which moves body muscles is produced by changing blood sugar into gases and water.  In this process, lactic acid is produced.  It is the accumulation of lactic acid in the body which creates the sensation of tiredness.

The body disposes of lactic acid first by changing it into pyruvic acid which in turn is broken up into carbon dioxide and water.  The water is then eliminated through various channels while carbon dioxide is exhaled through the lungs.

How Vitamin B, Foods Help to Prevent Tiredness

However, a bottleneck may occur in this process.  Vitamin B1 is essential  to help break down pyruvic acid into carbon dioxide and water - as necessary as heat to convert water into steam.  When there is a lack of Vitamin B1 in the diet, it follows that the individual may show signs of chronic fatigue.

People who fail to eat enough protective vegetables are very likely to suffer from a Vitamin B1 deficiency. More often, though vegetables may be plentiful in the diet, the Vitamin B1 in them is destroyed by overcooking or the addition of soda. This may come as quite a surprise to many who have cooked away the very thing that they need.

Great quantities of Vitamin B1 are also lost by discarding  pot liquors and the liquid in which vegetables are canned.  The point is:  A greater percentage of vegetables and fruits may be required in the diet to combat tiredness.

    Why Some People Tire Easily

The carbon disoxide which is produced as the end result of body cell activity is carried in the blood as carbonic acid until it reaches the lungs, where it is released.

The amount of carbonic acid in the blood regulates the depth and the intensity of breathing.  Thus, if a great deal of carbonic acid has accumulated in the blood, even slight exertion may leave you short of breath.

Walking up an ordinary flight of stairs may result in a feeling of utter exhaustions and deep gasps for breath.  Such reactions may signify that the blood is carrying an excess of carbonic acid, a common cause of undue tiredness.

     Acid-Ash Foods May Reduce Vitality

The person who continually eats too great a percentage of acid ash foods may deplete his stock of alkaline (base) ash to such an extent that the various other body processes of acid neutralization are overburdened.

A shortage of alkaline base materials may raise the need for more blood carbonic activity.  This particular section of the body fatigue-fighting mechanism is called upon for heavier duty.

A given effort will, therefore, call for faster, deeper breathing, perhaps even gasping for breath.  The person may become short-winded after brief exertion.

How Fruits and Vegetables May Lead to Greater Endurance

Conversely, the presence of enough alkaline (base) elements in the body will tend to spare the need for the blood carbonic acid chemistry just discussed.  The person well supplied with base elements is likely to have much greater endurance; he may be capable of greater sustained effort.

Milk, fruits and vegetables provide an alkaline ash. They combat chronic fatigue.

Spring Fever and Laziness

Creative Commons License photo credit: uhuru1701

Not many years ago it was dramatically proved that hookworm might make a person shiftless and inordinately lazy. It was shown that these traits were not always caused by a defect in character.

Essentially, the hookworm, an intestinal parasite, robbed the individual of some of the good in the foods he ate.

Just so, nutrition science has found that lack of a certain vitamin may tend to make a person feel listless, lazy and “not up to snuff.”

A Vitamin That Vitalizes the Body Cells

Each body cell must breathe to live, and it responds to its breathing as the individual does.  Fresh air revives and vitalizes a person. Stagnant air depresses him and saps his energy.

Each body cell contains a yellow enzyme which can be said to be the actual breathing structure of the cell. If there is enough of this yellow substance present, the cell functions properly; if not, the cell tends to smother because of this lack of an oxidation catalyst.

The vitamin called riboflavin is an indispensable and active constituent (hydrogen carrier) of the yellow enzyme in body cells. The amount of riboflavin supplied to the body determines to a considerable extent the life force in body cells.

When You “Don’t Feel Like
Doing a Thing”

It is this symptom which sets millions of people looking for stimulants. They drink coffee by the shipload, cola drinks by the tank car.  People with that letdown feeling buy countless candy bars, or they may turn to cocktails and similar pick-me-ups.

In time, riboflavin deficiency proceeds from bad to worse.  The corners of the mouth tend to become raw and sore, the eyelids may become reddened and inflamed, the eyeballs may itch and burn with a vexing gritty sensation.

How Raw Foods Can Prove to Be Tonic

Competent authorities claim that riboflavin deficiency is one of the most common nutritional defects, in spite of the fact that this chemical is widely distributed in foods. The reason is that many people make common eating mistakes which rob them of this precious vitamin.

Creative Commons License photo credit: °Florian

They choose refined cereals, breads, and pastries made with flour that has been shorn of most of its riboflavin.  They destroy much riboflavin in meats and other good sources of this vitamin by prolonged baking and roasting.  They damage the factor further by other forms of cooking and by adding soda and baking powder to various foods.

Many of the fruits and most of the salad vegetables offer the surest supply of this vitamin, for they are eaten in the raw state.  Thus, raw foods and salads may prove to be tonics in the real sense of the word.

Spring Fever May Be a Vitamin Deficiency Symptom

Through the winter months, when fresh foods are not so abundant, some of the body vitamin and mineral stores are used up.  Springtime is apt to find the body short of riboflavin, Vitamin C and other factors which fresh foods supply.

The surest way to avoid any sign of spring fever is to eat as abundantly of fresh fruits and vegetables as possible during the winter months.

If Your Child is Hard of Hearing

Creative Commons License photo credit: twenty_questions

The aim of this article is to present the problems of the hard of hearing child in possession of speech and not those of the child born deaf, or deaf from infancy. The latter’s problems differ widely and require a wholly different presentation, so we will not be covering them here.

When does ear trouble start? And what are its causes? These questions cannot be answered in a general way as inception and cause are often of uncertain date and origin.

Chiefly to blame are infectious diseases like scarlet fever, measles, meningitis, frequent colds, and so on. Each of these is a factor in impairment of hearing , even of total deafness.

A parental fallacy is that running ears will run their course by themselves and that medical attention is not needed for discharge from the ears. The acute running ear, however, is not only a detriment to the child’s health, but also causes loss of hearing.

The need of skilled medical treatment until the ear is dry, as will be seen, is essential. Mention should also be made of the fact that to pull or box a child’s ears may cause serious injury to the ear drum.  You would not think of boxing a child’s eyes. Then why his ears? They are nearly as sensitive.

A large percentage of deafness, it has been stated, is preventable.  It is due to diseased conditions in the ears during the first ten years of life.  Pain in the ear is always a sign that there is an acute inflammation.

An abscess may be forming which, if not attended to early enough, will cause loss of hearing in time.  Infected tonsils and adenoids are ever a danger to a child’s hearing and general health. Inflamed nose and throat, too, have a baneful effect upon weakened ears.

Hence, the obvious necessity of taking the best care of a hard of hearing child’s general physical condition. Proper nourishment with attention to vitamins, is neededin such cases; it can hardly be sufficiently stressed.

If your son or daughter gets tired while doing her school work before the evening has started, and falls asleep over her books; if he or she does not always answer when called, or makes mistakes in replying to questions or in carrying out instructions; and if they mispronounce words in everyday use, you might at least suspect that their hearing is not entirely normal.

Creative Commons License photo credit: viralbus

They may catch cold very often in their noses and throats; there may be a sinus infection troubling your child. But, if all these signs still fail to attract your attention, you may be startled some day by receiving a notificaton from the school which your child is attending that an audiometer test has shown a certain degree of hearing loss, and that medical attention is recommended.

Here  is a list of rules for the care of the hard of hearing children:

1.  Every child with a history of ear trouble in the past, should be followed up carefully for years, even though the hearing is not impaired when the child is examined.

2.  One should insist that advice and treatment be carried out.

3.  One should insist on lip reading not only as an immediate aid to the hearing, but as a partial insurance against possible future increased deafness.

4.  A front seat is imperative not only for better hearing, but for better lip reading.

5.  Teachers should favor the hard of hearing child by clear enunciation, repetition and position.

In most states, if not all of them, the school districts will provide a hearing test for your child if you do not have the means to have one conducted outside of the school system. The earlier the detection of a problem of hearing the better.

Since children in grade school are in their formative years, they are often reluctant to let on about a particular problem for fear of ridicule. This often leads to a child becoming an introvert or being shy or both. It is the parents responsibility to identify the signs of a problem and address it in a timely way to best take care of their child’s needs, especially related to hearing.

We will continue this series on hearing problems in the coming weeks.

U.S.Government Admits Vaccines Cause Autism

Creative Commons License photo credit: ninjapoodles

After many years of resisting every opportunity to acknowledge that our young ones, our dear children were being subjected unfairly to untested applications of multiple shots on one visit to the pediatrician, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the federal agency overseeing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, along with the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, recently admitted that a case of autism was caused by vaccinations.

The first case resulting in this admission by these agencies was alleging that Thimerosal in childhood vaccines had significantly contributed to a child developing autism.

For years, in fact decades, the number of children being affected with autism after having received their “recommended” vaccinations has been on the rise. This has been a shocking reality that has been altogether ignored by our media in the U.S. until very recently.

Montel Williams, who has a daily regular tv show on daytime television, had a doctor on his show a few months ago who spoke out about this tragedy. Montel was able to connect this particular doctor, to a mother who’s son was experiencing autism after having received his vaccinations.

The mother told the doctor that her son had never said a word. The doctor recommended she try taking him off of all milk and milk products with the purpose of eliminating cassein from his daily intake. Within a few weeks, the young boy was speaking. This ability to gain speech has not been the case for so many of the other young children in this nation who have suffered with autism. The ratio of newborn children who do not begin speaking at the expected age of two is now one out of every 150 children.

This should be an alarming statistic to the medical profession, but until now they have been reluctant to admit that there could be some connection between the mulititude of shots given before the age of six.

The main concern for parents in recent years has been that the medical profession was not willing to admit that their bombardment of vaccinations, which are not immunizations, were possibly causing or contributing to the occurence of autism. My own experience was that when I questioned the necessity of the vaccinations, I was not given an explanation, but a rebuke by the pediatrician.

He wanted to know where I was getting my information and I told him that I was reading the studies that were done by some doctors who had the conscience to provide their findings to the general public either in articles or by publishing their own book about vaccinations. Such is the case with Dr. Tim O’Shea and his detailed book including studies and findings by various doctors. The doctors who are willing to be honest with the public have soon discovered the problems that come with being honest. They are often ridiculed in one way or another by certain groups within the medical profession. Many who do research that does not agree with these same ones find their grants and funding soon cutoff. This is a sad reflection on how far we have come since the 1920s when medical discoveries of cures were embraced rather than ridiculed and attacked.

Case in point is Dr. Royal Rife, who was curing people of cancer in 1934. Was the medical community thrilled at his accomplishments? Quite the contrary. Thanks to the internet, you can take a peak into the dismal history of the AMA in how they related themselves to Dr. Rife’s cancer cure.

Indirectly, they basically destroyed his practice and shut down his laboratories. He was shocked to see this happening because he had spent over 20 years and thousands of experiments on animals searching for the cure to cancer only to have it stripped away by the powers that be. Go to http://rife.org for an overview of this doctor’s accomplishments related to cancer.

Some states do not require all children to be vaccinated if the parents sign a waiver. It has been my experience with my four children here in California that if you as a parent do not ask for the waiver form, you will not be made aware of the option of opting out of any or all of the vaccinations.

I attended a kindergarten orientation for parents of kindergartners who were preparing to begin classes, and the school nurse repeatedly, at least three times, said for all parents to be sure to bring their “required” vaccination records for their children to the school, otherwise their child would not be able to attend classes.

After the nurse finished her presentation, I ask her if the law had changed. She looked at me and said, “what law?” and I responded, “the law stating that I was required to vaccinate my daughter, when just the year before with my older girl I had been given the waiver to sign.” Her reply was, “oh you can still waiver the shots.”

I would certainly encourage all parents to be alerted to the problems many parents are experiencing with their children coming down with autism or late-development problems. Overall, the statistics in California show that almost one in every seven children in the Calfornia public school district has an identifiable problem related to their health.

This should be disturbing news to any parent. There are multiple books available in print that you should consider reading. One of the ones that I recommend is called, “The Sanctity of Human Blood: Vaccination is not Immunization”. The author is Dr. Tim O’Shea, and you may have to Google his name to find a copy of this book.

It is excellent reading, giving the history of vaccinations and detailed study results that will be an eye-opener for any parent who takes the initiative to read the book. Do not expect the government to inform you or even your local pediatrician to advise you against getting all of the vaccinations. It is the same as expecting your dentist to tell you not to load up your body with the toxic waste product known as fluoride.

You as a parent have to take more responsibility for the safety of your child to educate yourself on this most crucial matter. Now that the government has finally admitted that there is a connection between vaccinations and autism, you need to broaden your awareness of what you are subjecting your children to when you have them receive each and every shot.

Even this matter of receiving three shots in one is being closely scrutinized by parents who have seen their children have a dramatic setback just within days of receiving the triple doses.

As always, I advise anyone who reads my blog that you should check with your health practitioner before making any changes in your health care. However, having said that, you should also check out this website, http://www.nvic.org which I cannot recomment enough.

Even if you have to copy and paste the URL into your browser, please, I charge you, go to this website and read some of the postings there by Barbara Loe Fisher. She has been tirelessly laboring for years, since the 1980s, to provide you and me with the latest in research and reports exposing the hazards and dangers of just blindly vaccinating your children.

As her most recent posting reveals, the comments of those who are opposing parents such as myself who no longer subject my children to the dangers of vaccinations, are being stepped up with their barrage of insults. However, it is my responsibility as well as yours to oversee what happens or does not happen with our children.

I am not intimidated by someone’s insults, neither am I swayed by a pediatrician telling me more than once that I should be vaccinating my children. I told each one of these that pushed for the vaccinations that until the AMA or the national pediatric association comes clean with third party studies of the effects of the triple shot dosages and also includes further detailed and unbiased studies related to Gardasil, no one is going to poke a needle in any of my children’s arms, loading up their bodies with over 48 shots by the time they reach the age of 6.

There is an attempt to add another batch of “recommended” vaccinations to the existing list and it just continues to get more absurd by the hour. There is such a tremendous amount of money on the line for these pharmaceutical companies to gain these added vaccinations, that they will go all out to push them through. This is all done at the expense of your child’s health with no regard for adequate testing.

Again I urge you to do your own research and begin by taking advantage of the information that I have given you here. I am not compensated in any way if you purchase Dr. O’Shea’s book or visit NVIC.org. My burden is for you to take charge over your child’s future and vaccinations have become one of the major issues of our lifetime that we have to be concerned with.

Since our children look to us for their care, we need to step up our efforts to be informed parents doing what we see is best for our kids. We have never been faced with more challenges than we have right before us now. Parents in some states have been threatened with jailtime for not vaccinating their children, even in states where there are waiver forms that can be submitted.

As one leader of our great nation once said, “if you don’t fight for your rights and your freedom, you will lose your rights and your freedom”.
